Problem in Maintaining Existing Routes
- Inadequate existing data
- ABDs (As built drawings) in AutoCAD and hard copies are handed over to O&M by project team.
- Possibility of inaccurate information as they are not cross checked on route normally while taking over.
- No updation of routes after changes
- fault, branching, infrastructural changes etc. are not recorded.
- Lot of paper work and not handy to handle.
- Dependency on a single person who is maintaining the route from the very beginning.
- MTTR goes high
- Reaching to fault point and then tracing the fault takes more time. - This crosses SLA commitments and penalties are paid to clients in addition to dis-satifcation and fury of client. - New addition of customer takes time due to traceability issue of OFC in field. Also since joints created during fault repair are not known/recorded on ABDs sometimes higher CAPEX and thus higher OPEX is incurred for providing connectivity to new customer.
Existing Route Audit Using GPS Embeded Video (VABD)
- Visual display of route with accurate position, date and time
- Traced on Google earth (KMZ file creation) and GIS mapping
- Critical patches like bridges, road crossings, railway crossings, underpass, petrol pumps, rivers, canals, culverts, congested streets, town areas etc
- After recording the video is animated to mark the critical patches with distances recorded by Rodometer/Camera.
- Video is converted to MP4 => Mobile and laptop compatible
- Information on Telecom utilities en-route.
